Phoenix & Arabeth's twenty-five plus years of research into ancient Meso-American cultures has yielded a treasure trove of awesome authentic Olmec, Mayan and Aztec designs for tattoo application. Many of them were doubtlessly actually used for warrior and priest/priestess tattoos. Though we have no primary evidence from mummies, as we do in Egypt, Peru, Central Asia, etc, the Spanish did record that the warriors they were confronted by were heavily tattooed, often with images of their gods and goddesses.
